Managing a multi-branch garage in the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait

Opening a second or third branch is exciting. Keeping every location consistent is the hard part.

Opening a second branch is often the moment a workshop owner realises how much of the business lived in their own head. At one location, you can walk the floor and know what’s happening. At three locations across Dubai, Doha or Kuwait City, you can’t.

Multi-branch garage management means running every location on the same process and system, so each branch has its own jobs, staff and stock, while the owner sees all of them in one place.

Standardise before you scale

The first step isn’t software. It’s agreeing how a job should run: what goes on the job card, how estimates are approved, who closes the job and how it’s invoiced. Write it down, then make the system follow it at every branch.

Use one price list

Customers notice when the same service costs different amounts at different branches. Keep a shared list of services, labour rates and package prices, and limit who can change them. Role-based access in your software makes this easy.

Give each branch its own stock

Every branch needs to know what’s on its own shelf, but you also want to move parts between locations instead of buying new when one branch is short. Track stock per branch and record transfers. Our inventory guide covers minimum levels and reordering.

Compare branches with the same numbers

Decide which numbers matter and look at them for every branch, every week:

  • Revenue and number of jobs
  • Average job value
  • Jobs closed per technician
  • Time from check-in to hand-back
  • Stock value and low-stock items

When one branch’s average job value is much lower than another’s, you’ve found a training or pricing conversation worth having.

Keep customer history shared

A customer who services their car in Deira and then visits your Sharjah branch should get the same recognition. A shared customer and vehicle database means any branch can see the full history.

Train branch managers on the system first

Branch managers set the tone. If they use the system properly, their teams will too. Make sure each manager can open a job, issue an invoice and read the daily report before a new branch opens.

Crossing borders in the GCC

If you expand from the UAE into Qatar or Kuwait, each country will bill in its own currency and may have different tax rules. Choose software that handles AED, QAR and KWD natively and lets you report on each country separately. See how Solve Garage supports workshops in the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait.

Owner’s weekly routine

  1. Monday: check last week’s revenue and jobs per branch.
  2. Midweek: review low-stock alerts and transfers.
  3. Friday or Saturday: look at technician output and any jobs open for more than three days.

Fifteen minutes a week with the right reports beats a monthly surprise from the accountant.
